Kenya

The history of Kenya is rich with countless cultures and tales of explorers, traders and farmers who have at one time or another left their mark here. From the Eastern Cushitic peoples and pre-proto-Ongamo-Maa civilizations, to the more recent tribes of Maasai, Samburu, Meru, Borana, Kalenjin and others, the story of Kenya is one of human evolution, adaptation, migration and ingenuity. Today, Kenya has a population of approximately 39 million people, and over 40 indigenous cultures call this land home, so whilst English and Swahili are the two official languages, at least 40 other languages and dialects are used amongst its various ethnic groups.
